Finally, Apple discontinued the iPhone 5 officially on 10 th September 2013 but announced its successors iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. Hence, it was called the iPhone to have had the shortest lifespan being existed for just 12 months in production. It was the 2nd iPhone to have supported the 5 major iOS versions being iOS 6,7,8,9 and 10.

At the unveiling of this iPhone 5, Apple also introduced the iPod touch and the iPod Nano. On the 30th of November in the same year as the release of the iPhone 5, an unlocked version of it was added to Apple’s online store where the price of the 16GB model was priced around  $649.00.

The iPhone 5 had a screen as wide as 4 inches which offers convenient media viewing. The phone came with a 16gb storage which is sufficient for storing huge amounts of music, games, apps, etc. It also supported the 2G,3G and 4G connectivity that enabled hassle free web browsing. It’s color variants were slate and black. The battery capacity was 1600 mAh offering a battery talk time of up to 480 minutes. The device weighed 3.95 ounces.
