Samsung S10 Series – More Cameras, Better Display, Unbelievable Style

Samsung S10 Series – More Cameras, Better Display, Unbelievable Style

No one does an Android quite like
Samsung and for the past ten years, they’ve been upping the ante with their flagships. This year is no different as we see three versions of the tenth iteration of their famed Galaxy S series – the
5.8-inch S10e, the 6.1-inch S10, and the 6.4-inch S10+ .

Display
Samsung displays have always dazzled and while all three phones may look the same at first glance, a closer look will dispel that assumption pretty fast.

The edges of the
S10 and S10+ are curved, while that of the S10e is flat, which means it doesn’t curve into the frame below. With a Full HD+ resolution on the 10e and a Wide Quad HD+ resolution on the S10 and S10+, the Dynamic AMOLED displays have been nudged even further into the bezels achieving more screen space.

Each of these phones offer an in-display fingerprint sensor and have done away with the Iris scanning that was first introduced in the S8 to unlock the phone and authorize Samsung Pay transactions. Samsung believes the feature is now redundant with the introduction of the most advanced fingerprint scanner.

Advanced, because it uses ultrasonic technology and not the optical readers like other Android phones. While optical in-display fingerprint readers view a 2D image of the fingerprint, the ultrasonic reader reads the 3D contours of your fingerprint for foolproof security.

The display on all three iterations reduces blue light through its TÜV Rheinland certified Eye Comfort display without compromising picture quality or adding a filter.

Camera
Moving away from the notch, the Samsung S10 series has what they call “Infinity-O” displays with a round hole – hole punch displays – in the upper right corner.

Not only this, there are three cameras each on the
S10 and S10+ . Specs include a 12MP wide angle with f/1.5 and f/2.4 variable apertures, 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens and a 123° 16MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture and 0.5X/2X optical zoom, up to 10X digital zoom.

The S10e on the other hand has two cameras – a 12MP wide angle with f/1.5 and f/2.4 variable apertures and a 123° 16MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture.

This line-up also sees an ultra-wide-angle lens in the S10e for wider nature shots and larger groups!

The front cameras on all three phones record in 4K.

The S10+ is a bit different. Apart from the base version of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage there is a 512GB and 1TB version as well. Should you opt for the 512GB or the 1TB iterations, which come with 12GB of RAM, the phone will have a ceramic glass rear and not Gorilla Glass 6 that’s available on the other models.
